Tsa-Kwa-Luten Lodge

We had lunch on the deck at the Tsa-Kwa-Luten Lodge. The Lodge reminded me a bit of Costanoa, where we got married.

On the deck, Soren enjoyed his high chair...

...and the view was gorgeous.

Anders and I found a cool piece of outdoor art...

...and wandered along a nice path.

After that, Anders and Sigrid split an enormous piece of chocolate cheesecake (ok, maybe I helped a bit, too).

Nuyumbalees Cultural Centre

After packing up and leaving Taku (sniff, sniff), we visited the Nuyumbalees Cultural Centre. No cameras were allowed, so I have no pics of the exhibits. But here are some pics from a resting spot across the street.

horseshoes

Before leaving Taku, we took a walk around the grounds to see what we might have missed. We found some horseshoe pits.

Rebecca Spit

We went out to Rebecca Spit for a picnic dinner. For the picnic, we sat on the Quadra Island-facing side of the spit.

This is my "catalog photo" pose.

After dinner, we walked over to the east-facing side.

Fun is exhausting

We spent the afternoon at Lynne and Steve's place, which is absolutely gorgeous.

Both boys had a great time, and fell asleep as soon as we started driving back to Taku.

Taku

Two nights on Quadra Island, with lovely accommodations at the Taku Resort.

Car Ferry

We made it to the ferry to Quadra Island with mere minutes to spare (thus avoiding an hour wait).

BC Forest Discovery Centre

On our way to Quadra Island, we stopped at the BC Forest Discovery Centre in Duncan.

We saw big logging equipment...

...and old trucks...

...and steam engines...

...and lots of other cool stuff.

Oh, and more trucks!

Then, after lunch, we rode a train...

...across a trestle...

...and then took in some more sights...

...before riding the train back to the starting point.
