It took us less than six years...

Our master bedroom has a nice closet, but the closet floor was unfinished when we moved in. It apparently used to be carpeted, and the prior owners removed the carpet before putting the house on the market. But underneath the carpet, there was just a particle board sub-floor. This seems like one of those things you should address before you move into a newly purchased home, lest you end up leaving the closet that way for nearly six years....

But after nearly six years, we're finally redoing the entire closet, so it seemed like the right time to put in a real (or real enough—Pergo) floor.

First Grade!

The San Francisco School likes to start the year off with a bit of pageantry.

The oldest eighth grader and the youngest first grader ring in the new year...

...and knowledge is shared from eighth grade, to seventh grade, and so on, down to the first grade...

...and then from the first grade back to the other grades (but I accidentally stopped the video before that).

business trip

I don't recommend this sort of business trip.

Pro tip: If you choose a meal online ahead of your flight on EVA Air, you get choices that aren't otherwise offered, like lobster thermidor (well, in business class anyway).

Extra pro tip: The lobster thermidor on EVA Air is just so-so, though it doesn't much matter when you're eating at 2 in the morning.
