new bedroom light

Not so new anymore, but I keep forgetting to post a picture. We got this about three weeks ago.

The installation was simple enough, but exposed some unpainted ceiling, and it took me a long time to determine that "Diamond White" was the right color from the collection of old paint left by the previous owners.

Oh so sad

Anders was a bit cranky when he woke up from his nap today. And when Anders is sad, that sometimes makes Mommy sad.

Drinks all 'round!

You can think of this post as a companion to last week's "drinking water out of a big boy cup" post.

And you can expect to see videos posted here more frequently now, because I just upgraded my iPhone to a 3Gs, which allows me to shoot video with my phone and post it to YouTube directly from the phone.

(Those of you reading this on Facebook won't see the videos, because Facebook strips embedded videos from blog posts imported into Facebook notes. Click on the "View Original Post" link at the bottom to see the missing video.)

The Keymaster

Anders is certain that one of these keys will open this chest.

at the cove

We had one last visit with the Wests, spending the afternoon in the cove over by Barbara's house.

The paparazzi swarmed around Anders.

Anders loved this dog, but was also a bit scared.

games you may not have played before

This is the "stomp your feet and then grab them really hard" game.

This is the "talk to each other through a slinky" game.

drinking water out of a big boy cup!

Anders has had some reasonable efforts with drinking out of real cups, but here in Victoria he's had a few very good showings, in particular.

old toys are new again

Grandpa brought out some of the toys he played with as a little boy, and Anders adored them. Well, until he threw them in the pond (Grandpa fished them out).

Butchart Gardens

Today, we went to Butchart Gardens, with a showing of Julie & Julia on the agenda for later this evening. So, yes, flowers and a chick flick. Sounds good to me...

Anders was perhaps more interested in the gear than the flowers.

He attempted an escape here.

Frog water fountains are fun.

This is a Julia Child rose, which seemed appropriate, given the planned entertainment for this evening.

Run, run, run, run!

This is a bed of moss and some mushrooms.... the sneaky angle disguises reality a bit.

The gardens were remarkably free of pests, but friendly bugs like spiders and bees could still be found.
