a precocious nerd

Soren loves to review what Lego sets he's put on his rental list at Pley.com. As part of that review, he reorders them by current preference, and perhaps adds new sets to his list. Recently, he said he wanted to add the Trevi Fountain set. This is from the Lego Architecture series, and is intended for adults, not kids. I made him confirm that he really wanted this set, and he assured me he did, so we added it to his list. And what do you know, it was the next set we got!

The set has 731 pieces, and comes with a beautiful instruction book with a short history of the fountain. A lot of the detail work was very tricky for a 4-year-old boy, but Soren enjoyed the set immensely. At the end of a few hours, when it was bedtime, we had gotten about two-thirds of the way through.

That was Friday night. We did a bit more on Saturday morning before we left to go camping, and then Soren finished the set up on Sunday night when we got back.

Check out the horses!

(Ok, hippocampi, actually.)
