our brush with fame, sort of

Forty-one years ago, Howard Hughes rented the top four floors of the tower at the Westin Bayshore in Vancouver for six months. We didn't take up as much space or stay as long, but we did stay on the top floor of the tower. Our rooms (we had two adjoining rooms) on the south corner of the tower were, as best I can tell, on the opposite corner from the three-room suite that Hughes occupied.

I have to say, the view's not bad. Here's the view from our balcony, looking to the west.
