Anders has a new hoodie
Have I mentioned that this kid is always in motion?
He also smiles a lot.
This is a very Anders pose, with the tongue to the side.
He does love his drumstick.

blast from the past
Anders was about one hour old in these videos.
(psst... there should be an option in the pop-up menu in the bottom right that will allow you to view these videos in HD... and the button to the left of that will allow you to view the videos in full-screen mode.)

No use crying over spilt milk
We've been saying we need to start teaching Anders the meaning of "no," but then we forget and let him do all sorts of things that, perhaps, should involve some "no" teaching.
On the other hand, it can be very educational. Sigrid thinks maybe Anders will become a bartender.

Segway
The Segway was supposed to revolutionize personal travel. It didn't quite accomplish that, but there are a few police stations that have bought Segways, and maybe even some postal carriers.
And tour guides. Brian and I went on a Pacifica tour by Segway. The tour guide quickly determined that we cared a lot more about riding the Segways than about learning about Pacifica history and sites, so he zoomed us through a variety of fun Segway spots during our hour-ish tour.
Here's Brian getting his Segway legs indoors.
And here's Anders checking a 1st gen. Segway out.
Wall o' Segways.
Zoom, zoom, zoom (I picked the only red Segway they had).
More training.
I had to stop for the small child crossing.
Off-road. Ok, not the most dangerous of off-road paths, but something.

Hangin' at the Upper Noe Rec Center
Dad, look! I'm inside and you're outside!

It's a water faucet!

I think I see something cool over there. Is that a car?
You know, this car is fun, but is that a tunnel over there?
It is! It's a tunnel!

Fix-it baby
When you sell a place in San Francisco, you need to have an energy certification on file with the city. Among other things, this requires weatherstripping on the doors. It doesn't require properly installing weatherstripping, though.
The sweep at the bottom of the door is (a) a bit short (not much I can do about that), and (b) was installed leaving about a half inch between the sweep and the floor (something I can do about that).
So I moved it down a half inch. Anders helped. Sort of.

Anders's new curtains
Anders has some beautiful new curtains! Sigrid selected the fabric, and then Grammy did the heavy lifting.

Holy pachyderms, Batman!

Kristin's in town
Kristin's in town, on sabbatical in Berkeley for a couple of months, so we invited folks over for homemade bagels and general fun. It was a beautiful day, so we ended up on the backyard deck.

Houdini
We bought a very nice dog fence (suitable for small dogs, as I understand it) to block off the stereo. It works well because it doesn't interfere with remote controls, it stands up on its own, and it's much longer (six feet) than most baby fences.
Sometimes, though, Anders finds his way around to the other side of the fence...
