Today we went to Samovar, one of Sigrid's favorite tea lounges. She had the English tea service, pictured below. If you look carefully, you'll see that Anders is sitting in the background with his tongue out. Apparently he doesn't think much of English tea.
We were bathing Anders in a little basin we got from CPMC, but lately we've been using his super deluxe, extra cool baby tub (one of the many wonderful hand-me-downs we got from friends). I must say it works well.
We've been using gdiapers lately. They're very cute!
Leaving aside the reusable parts, the diapers are flushable (or, if you prefer, compostable). They're a bit more expensive on a per diaper basis, and we suspect he needs to be changed more often (working hypothesis is that the gel in standard disposables locks wetness away much more tightly than the absorbent crystals that are in the gdiapers). And fitting them is a bit trickier than with standard disposables. So the current theory is to use gdiapers at home in the daytime, using Seventh Generation disposables when we're out and about and at night.
Anders did very well at his one-month checkup. He was 10 lbs even, 22.5 inches long, and his head was 37.8 cm around. He also got his second hep-B shot. Unlike the first, which he barely noticed, he screamed with great vigor for this one. Little does he realize that at his two-month checkup, he's getting five shots . . .
On May 15, 2008, temperatures in San Francisco hit 97°F, hotter than any May 15th on record in SF.
Ok, no trains, but planes and automobiles, anyway.
After 3+ weeks staying exclusively in San Francisco, Anders ventured into the larger world. He was a model passenger in taxis, cars, and planes for his trip to Victoria.
